Ellie & Jamie’s Wedding at Broadclyst, Exeter
Ellie & Jamie contacted us when they were looking for a wedding caterer near Exeter, they had chosen to celebrate their marriage and hold their wedding reception at Victory Hall, Broadclyst. Set just 6 miles from the historic city of Exeter the hall is situated the National Trust Killerton Estate. Ellie & Jamie had previously been guests at a wedding we had catered for and were impressed with the quality of food and service.
They started by looking through our extensive wedding menus forming ideas on food that would compliment their summer wedding. Together we decided upon a comprehensive three course wedding breakfast that comprised of starter, main and dessert, complimented by fresh coffee and tea to finish.
The starter was an Antipasti Sharing platter that was served on our handcrafted solid oak heart boards and placed centre table for guests to self-serve. Sharing starters are a great way of getting guests chatting and over recent years has become a popular choice. The platter was hand-prepared and included olives, sundried tomatoes, a bed of rocket, parmesan and a selection of antipasti meats, and to complete we included granary bread and olive oil dips.
Choosing from one of our Wedding Collection menus Ellie & Jamie treated their guests to a main of Devon Chicken Ballotine filled with caramelised onion and French brie, wrapped with a smoked bacon and served with a creamy white wine sauce, new potatoes and a seasonal vegetable parcel held with a courgette ribbon. As we prepare all catering fresh we are able to adapt any of the dishes to individual tastes and take into consideration all guest requirements.
Dessert was to be our favourite of hand-prepared Dark Chocolate & Orange Brownie, which is served with a rich ganache and orange puree dots. And being a summer wedding guests could also choose from freshly made mini-meringues with whipped cream and topped with local strawberries and a strawberry puree.
