Jenita and Alex’s wedding at Tawstock Court
Jenita and Alex contacted us when they were looking for a wedding caterer to provide both a full Wedding Breakfast and evening catering for their guests at their chosen venue, the historic and beautiful Tawstock Court in north Devon. Tawstock, a magnificent manor house and estate set high above the village of Bishops Tawton was until a few years ago run as a private school. Under new ownership the estate has undergone a remarkable refurbishment programme and today is one of the premier wedding and events venues in north Devon.
We have catered for many weddings, parties and events at Tawstock and have many more booked over the next few months and years. We met with Jenita and Alex shortly after they had received a recommendation from Tawstock’s owners, together we started to explore options for their Wedding Breakfast from our Wedding Collections menus – each wedding is unique and as we freshly prepare we are able to adapt any of our menus to cater for individual taste and guest requirements.
Wedding Canapes chosen by Jenita and Alex included:
- Canape size individual fish cakes with a sweet chilli dipping sauce
- Mini Yorkshire puddings filled with Devon beef, crème frais and horseradish
- Freshly prepared chicken liver pate presented on toasted brioche w/onion chutney
- Fine sliced cucumber topped with smoked salmon and cream cheese
Wedding Breakfast – seated waiter service
Antipasti sharing platters with cured meats and Italian cheeses
complimented with olives, sundried tomatoes, selection of fresh baked breads and dipping sauces
Ballotine of Devon chicken filled with a wild sage & onion stuffing and wrapped in smoked bacon
accompanied by rosemary infused roast potatoes and courgette tied seasonal vegetable parcel
Spicy deep filled red bell pepper
with a mix of spiced vegetables, beans and quinoa
Sharing platters of desserts including handmade Portuguese egg custard tarts, Individual rich chocolate mousse served in shot glasses and Handmade Devon Catering scones served with clotted cream and strawberry jam.
Service was completed with freshly filtered coffee, a selection of fine teas and Amaretti biscuits.
Evening guests were treated to a beautifully hand prepared buffet that included regional and international cheese stack served with figs and fresh grapes and our special handmade Devon deep filled pasties.
