Jo & Massimo’s Wedding at Westcott Barton
Jo and Massimo invited their 85 guests to join them at the stunning Westcott Barton to celebrate their marriage. Set in its own valley nestled high in north Devon, Westcott Barton is a period house and estate once in the ownership of the locally powerful Chichester family. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book this imposing Grade II listed house is set amongst a number of stone barns that have been sympathetically converted to provide a versatile entertainment space.
We met Jo & Massimo when they were looking for a wedding cater in north Devon to provide fresh and inspirational food for their summer wedding. Westcott Barton is well known to us and we are a frequent visitor catering for many weddings there throughout the year.
Our wedding menus are extensive and Jo and Massimo decided to chose from our range of hand-crafted canapes, a full seated three course wedding breakfast that included a rather special Devon based dessert. The canape selection served to guests upon arrival included our Salmon Blinis and Mushroom & Brie Parcels.
Guest were treated to a three-course wedding breakfast of a starter of Bruchetta & Goats Cheese served on a fresh leaf salad, main of Ballotine of Chicken filled with a sage & onion stuffing, accompanied by a season vegetable parcel held with courgette ribbon and seasonal potatoes.
And the special dessert! Jo & Massimo wished to treat their guests to a Devon favourite as many were not from the local area. We created a dessert sized Devon Cream Tea (cream first of course!) with scones made to our own and rather secret recipe, served with fresh clotted cream and local fresh strawberries and jam. Delicious.
