Sophie and Ed’s wedding at Tawstock Court, north Devon
Sophie and Ed chose Tawstock Court to celebrate their marriage with friends and family. Tawstock is a historic venue in north Devon set a few miles outside the regional centre of Barnstaple. Having been a private country estate and more recently the private school St Michaels until it’s closure in 2012.
Now fast becoming one of the areas most sort after wedding venues, Tawstock has undergone substantial renovation and improvements by its new owners including the restoration of buildings to form stunning new accommodation for wedding and party guests.
We met Sophie and Ed when they were looking for a wedding caterer in north Devon and together we starter to explore options from our Wedding Collections menus. The couple were looking for catering across the weekend including their wedding breakfast, evening guest catering and additional bbq on Sunday for their guests taking advantage of the new bedrooms Tawstock Court has to offer.
We are located just a couple of miles from Tawstock and have catered for weddings and events there many times over the last few years, and with a signification number of wedding bookings for the next two years at the venue too.

locally farmed pork with a very special sauce made with apples from our own orchards

Wedding Breakfast – Main – seated service
Locally farmed Beef Tenderloin served with a rich beef jus
accompanied by whole-grain mustard potato puree, courgette ribbon tied seasonal vegetable parcel, decorated with freshly picked rosemary and fig.
Vegetarian option was our freshly chef prepared Aubergine Parmigianino served with a whole-grain mustard potato puree and courgette ribbon tied seasonal vegetable parcel.
Sophie and Ed treated their guests to not one but three individual desserts, our hand-prepared trio of individual desserts has proven to be a wedding favourite with thousands of guests.
Trio of Individual Desserts – Tangy lemon mousse served with lemon zest, Handmade Profiteroles smoothed with a rich ganache, Mini Pink Meringues served with fresh strawberry.
Service was completed with freshly ground coffee and a selection of fine teas complimented by amaretti biscuits.
Sophie and Eds evening guests were well catered for too, they had opted for our own handmade pizzas freshly prepared with a variety of toppings. We hand prepare the dough for our bases and use the very best ingredients for the toppings giving a fantastic visual appearance and taste.
Sophie and Ed continued their weekend celebration at Tawstock with a Sunday lunch BBQ. We prepared a feast including our special locally farmed and produced succulent beef burgers and variety of sausages, fresh bakery buns and rolls, freshly prepared salads and slaw. To finish we provided our rich dark Chocolate Brownies made to a secret Devon Catering recipe.
