Tawstock Court

Today Tawstock is in the possession of the Preyer family who over the last few years have extensively renovated and improved this impressive house and buildings transforming it into one of north Devon’s premier wedding venues. Set among the rolling hills of north Devon with an enviable view over St Peter’s church, the rural community of Bishop’s Tawton and onwards to the rugged and inspiring landscape of Exmoor.
The original estate was built around 1574, fire set hold of the mansion house in 1787 and it was subsequently rebuilt around 1800. In 1940 the house and grounds were let to St Michaels School where an acclaimed private school was run until it’s closure in 2012. The Preyer family took ownership shortly after and commenced their sympathetic works on the house and grounds including the conversation of outbuildings to a range of stunning bedrooms.
Tawstock Court has fast become a recognised wedding venue, offering versatile options for wedding receptions and making excellent use of it’s far reaching views and landscaped grounds.

Buckland House
